Dog Sports – Flyball

May 27, 2024 Bec

Dog flyball is a competitive canine sport that involves a relay race between two teams of four dogs each. The primary objective of flyball is for the dogs to jump over a series of hurdles, trigger a spring-loaded box to release a tennis ball, and then carry the ball back over the hurdles to their handler as quickly as possible. The next dog on the team then repeats the process, creating a relay race scenario.

Flyball is a high-energy, fast-paced sport that requires agility, speed, focus, and a strong desire to retrieve the ball. Any dog with the right temperament and enthusiasm can potentially enjoy flyball.

Flyball is not only a fun and exciting activity for dogs and their owners, but it also promotes exercise, mental stimulation, and bonding between the canine and human participants. It has gained popularity as a dog sport and is often seen at dog shows, exhibitions, and competitions.
