LOUISE CAMPBELL is the very talented artist behind
'A Little Horse Sense'. As an animal lover with a
passion for Equine Assisted Therapy, Louise created
the characters of A Little Horse Sense based on her
own animal friends and experiences. Combined with a
positive message or quote, Louise's drawings are her
way of putting a smile out into the world, to try to
make it a happier place for others. Since starting her
Facebook page in 2013, the page has now turned into
a little community with nearly 13,000 followers.
"I started doing my drawings because I wanted to
make people smile, to motivate or inspire them to
follow their dreams, it's my small contribution to making
the world a better place. I woke up one morning with
the idea of doing the drawings but wasn't sure how to
go about it all. I needed a way to draw them that was
quick and didn't require lots of time or steps to get
from paper to Facebook; so I decided to draw them
on my iPad - another first for me!. I didn't really think
anyone would be interested in them because I didn't
think they were very good, but for some reason I was
compelled to start my Facebook page.
That morning I drew up the characters, which are based
on my own animal friends and experiences, and sent
them to my sister to see what she thought.
She loved the idea and told me to go for it…so I did.
I set up the page and then let my friends and family
know what I had done and it just took off from there,
I really don't know how or why. The page has now
turned into a little community which I really enjoy.
The Little Horse Sense characters allow me to express
my thoughts and feelings through the drawings - the
process can be a great therapy for me.
I work as a graphic designer but my other passion
is Equine Assisted Therapy (EAT). My sister, who is a
psychologist, and I run a part time business offering
EAT at Moonbi NSW, we work with people with a wide
range of needs from wellness and growth, depression,
anxiety through to more complicated mental health
issues, we also work with families, carers and women's
groups, corporate groups and team building. The
horses are just brilliant in this modality and I am
constantly amazed at what they do in sessions".
