Why does my dog drag their bum
on the ground?
When a dog drags their bum on the ground,
it's often called "scooting" and it can happen
for several reasons:
¦ Anal Gland Issues – The most common cause
is irritation or discomfort from full, infected,
or impacted anal glands.
¦ Parasites – Worms, particularly tapeworms,
can irritate the area.
¦ Allergies or Irritation – Skin allergies, from
food or environmental allergens or irritation
around the anal area.
¦ Poor Hygiene – If the area is dirty, dogs
might scoot to clean themselves or try to
alleviate discomfort.
¦ Infections – Bacterial or yeast infections in
the anal area could cause similar symptoms.
If scooting is frequent, it's a good idea to
have your dog checked by a vet to rule out
any underlying health issues, especially if it's
accompanied by other symptoms like swelling,
redness, or changes in behaviour.

"Bought for very old Goldie with aging &
arthritic mobility issues. Have tried other
shoes that have ranged from poor to good.
These are fantastic. Easy to put on, they
stay on, I assume they are comfortable
because my Goldie's mobility improved
significantly. We've been using them for
about a week (many hours daily).... Highly
recommend for quality, function, & ease of
use. I have not washed them as yet so can't
comment on that. Well worth the money.."
