Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD)
is a common and potentially serious disorder
among cats. This condition causes inflammation
and irritation of the bladder and urethra, which
can lead to blockages, bleeding, pain, and
difficulty urinating.
The exact cause of Feline Lower Urinary Tract
Disease (FLUTD) is not fully understood,
however there are several factors which may
contribute to its development. Some of these
include eating a dry diet, being neutered,
stress, being overweight, genetics and
environment.
Symptoms of FLUTD include:
· Frequent visits to the litter box
· Excessive licking at the urinary opening,
· Blood in urine
· Straining when urinating
· Vocalising while urinating
