Do horses need their teeth checked and how will I know if my horse has a problem with her teeth? All horses should have regular dental check ups. They should be checked as foals then every six months until their permanent teeth have erupted, usually at about five years of age. After this they should have yearly check-ups or if a problem arises. Teeth should be checked by a qualified equine dentist or a veterinarian. During a check-up they will be able to float sharp teeth and remove any problematic teeth. Your horse may need their teeth checked if they are dribbling, dropping food, have sores in their mouth, soaking their feed, have a swollen face or jaw or are unwilling to eat. 12 | my pet magazine tried+teed "Excellent product. One horse gets loose stools on occasion. Gave this to him last time it happened and dried up in 2-3 days. Other horse dropped a bit of condition over winter so he's on it too now and looks better after a few weeks of maintenance dose. Highly recommend" Leona, vet-n-pet DIRECT customer PRON8URE PROBIOTIC POWDER (formerly Protexin) A multi-strain probiotic for animals and birds. Horses have an acute sense of smell that allows them to detect nervousness in their handler. They also become nervous around the smell of blood. FAST FACT Polocrosse is an exciting sport which combines polo and lacrosse and is played on horseback. It has the speed and agility of polo, the physical contact of lacrosse, and the tactical strategy of both games combined. This makes polocrosse a thrilling game to watch as well as an enjoyable game to play. It is a fast-paced game that requires horses with strong athletic abilities and physical capabilities. A polocrosse horse needs to be able to go from a standstill to full gallop, stop quickly, turn sharply, and have the ability to change direction on a dime. The most popular polocrosse horse breeds are Quarter Horses, Arabians, and Thoroughbreds. Polocrosse is an increasingly popular sport that appeals to riders of all ages and skill levels. It is a sport that is growing globally and Australia has been at the forefront of polocrosse development. [Sports in the Spotlight] POLOCROSSE
