Ragdolls come in pointed colour coats meaning lighter on the body with darker ears, mask, legs and tail. Coat colours include seal, blue, chocolate, lilac, red and cream. They have very distinctive eyes that are large, oval shaped and are always a shade of piercing blue in colour. TEMPERAMENT: The perfect lap cat. Ragdolls are gentle, placid, relaxed and love attention. Their laid back nature makes them ideal inside cats, perfect for people that want a companion. They are suitable for the elderly and children. AVERAGE LIFE SPAN: 13-15 years MAINTENANCE: They are heavy moulters and their thick coat requires a lot of grooming requiring almost daily brushing. They are calm cats that do not have a very strong hunting instinct and don't require a lot of exercise, the ideal indoor cat. INTERESTING FACT: Ragdolls go limp when you pick them up. Ragdoll What is Catnip? And will my cat like it? Catnip, botanical name Nepata Cataria, is a herb from the mint family. The active ingredient in catnip is an essential oil which is known to alter the behaviour of cats. Catnip is a stimulant and the catnip reaction is often referred to as a "high" with cats that are affected by it sniffing, licking, chewing, rubbing and rolling. Other reactions can include drooling, jumping, biting, aggression and hyperactivity. The effects tend to last for 5-10 minutes. Not all cats are attracted to or affected by catnip, particularly kittens under six months of age and older cats. Catnip is found in a number of toys which helps the cat respond and play with the toy. You can also purchase catnip, in its dried form, which can be sprinkled around to stimulate your cat. Q A & Cats can't taste sugar! It is believed that cats have a mutation in the genes of the key taste receptors which prevents them from being able to taste sweetness. FAST FACT catnip toys your kitty will love!
