Dogs can tell time! (Well sort of!)
It is believed that dogs have a general
sense of time. Their perception isn't
the same as ours but they can tell the
difference between one or four hours.

Heatstroke is a very serious and life threatening
condition which can occur when your pet overheats
and is unable to reduce their core body temperature.
As a pet owner it is important to know the signs
and symptoms of heatstroke, which include;
c Rapid panting
c Staggering, weakness or lethargy
c Gums and tongue might appear dark or bright
red and be sticky or dry
c Salivating or drooling
c Vomiting and/or diarrhoea – possibly with blood
c Rectal temperature between 40-43 degrees
c Seizures or Coma
Some things that you can do to help lower your
pet's core body temperature if they are overheating
or possibly suffering from heat stroke include;
c Moving them into a cool, shaded place
c Use cool, not freezing, water to cool them down
by offering small amounts to drink or by putting
wet towels on their body, feet and head.
c If you have a fan or air-conditioning this will help
to aid in the evaporation and cooling.
N.B. These steps can also be done in the car (while
someone else is driving) on the way to the vet.
If you ever suspect that your pet is suffering from
heatstroke contact your veterinarian immediately.
Getting heatstroke treated quickly is instrumental
in survival and recovery as it can progress rapidly
and cause organ damage. It is always best that you
speak to your vet even if it seems the condition was
mild or has improved.

"Amazing results! Originally advised by my
Vet to help my very anxious mini pinscher
with a huge house move from interstate.
All I can say is she is a different dog.
It has worked amazingly well, I started
about two weeks before the move and
she's been great. Am going to carry on for
a while as she seems so much more chilled
and less anxious about the everyday things
that would have bothered her previously!"
